The Learning Curve

When I first started editing for my first film, I thought the project was doomed. With 1 1/2 hours of footage, I found too little to make a a decent video and had to add footage after the fact. My sound recorder failed (or I failed it), and I had to splice some sentences together when I said weird things.  The lighting didn’t do much for my “look”  and my hait was a mess (which is actually pretty typical). When I first started editing for my first film, I thought the project was doomed. I was mildly happy with the final project.  The flaws will improve over time and I know I’m still at the bottom of the learning curve.  Still, it took me while before deciding to post it on Facebook.  The feedback was fantastic!!  Of course, they are my friends and have to like it, but a few people shared it, and even a few of my non-friends around town have mentioned they liked it.  There are over 100 views, which is not spectacular.  I’m no PewDiePie,  but I didn’t expect to be.  I’m happy that people learned something and were amused.  That is the point, right.   The other sort of exciting point is that I’m pretty sure that some of those viewers are not my friends.  Mine is the only video on eating lady fern fiddleheads on YouTube.

Keep tuned for the next video on spring trail snacks.
